Greetings friends,

Well, over the weekend I located a LNIB 632-2 Pro Series 327 Mag J frame. I wasn't really looking for one but I got the call from my LGS and proceeded down there to buy it.

Tell me what you think about them. I didn't really want to add yet another caliber but after shooting it, I think it will be fun. Even if I never shoot it again it will fill a slot in my J Frame collection that is getting rather out of control. I got one box of ammo with it and am looking for more.

Additional questions I have:

How many of my brothers and sisters on here have one of these? Tell me what you think about them.

Where is a good place to get 327 Federal Magnum ammo?
I understand that you can shoot just about any .32 ammo so what are your experiences with that in these Smiths.

Thanks!

Not an S&W but I do have a Ruger SP101 3" in 327 Mag. and really enjoy shooting it. More recoil with the 327 than .38+P. 32 S&W long is like shooting a little bigger 22 round. Also have some 32 H&R Mag which is somewhat easier on the recoil than the 327. Compared to 38 Special ammo is a little pricey and harder to find. Big plus is getting 6 shots out of a J frame. Sounds like a nice one that you don't see too often.

Thank you for the reply. I agree that the extra round is a great bonus. I bet the recoil in the SP101 is still quite manageable. I've found those Ruger's to be pretty hefty.

SG Ammo has the HST round but i'm also looking for some non defense rounds. I sure wish i'd taken up reloading years ago.

All the best,

if I could only find a 327 lever gun too. :)
I ordered my Henry Big Boy Steel Carbine in .327 fed direct from Henry (well, I had my LGS order it from Henry for me, got their dealer discount). That was at the end of 2019... it is still available, but you need to order it as no one stocks them.

It works well, even does .32 H&R mag well - .32 S&W Long work too, if you are gentle with it.

I have a 632 myself... love it!
That factory port tames muzzle rise very well.

My 632-2 is the 2 1/4” snub. I’ve only seen one in the wild and immediately bought it for what I thought was a great deal as it was NIB and unfired. I always like to have two of everything and have yet to see another.

I suppose the caliber kept these from being popular. I actually enjoy the 327 federal magnum and find it to be a capable performer from the snubs.

good luck in your quest. They are out there.
