Dating S&W model 64

Do you know how to date my S&W model 64 by the serial number (under grip frame) also determining what series it could be?
My revolver serial number is: AZC6026.
Thank you in anticipation.

Three letter prefixes are tough to pin down. The AYxxxxx were used in late 1987, 1988. Possibly yours was first quarter of 1988.
