Managed to get out to the pit this afternoon, on this cold 30 degree day, to try out my latest acquisition the 67-5. As you all can see the area is still pretty ripped up from the loggers but no problem. Set up the target and got out the revolver and ammo.

I used some reloads that I got from Jonesy814, 125gr XTP and 148Gr Speer HBWC's. Overall the revolver shot well and was on target, the misses were my errors:rolleyes:. The trigger was smooth and the gun was great to shoot.

First six rounds from 30 feet...DA

Next six while sidestepping at 15 feet..DA

These six from 20 feet...DA

I can say I am quite happy with the 67-5. Feels great to shoot and is accurate. Would recommend to anyone that is interested in adding one to their collection. All in all a good day at the range.

I hope that I recommended the M-67 to you. My M-67 no dash is my only target type revolver, and I enjoy shooting it using a bench rest. I sold my M-17-4 because I can not hold up a longer barrel, due to both my shoulder injuries. All my other S&W's are self defense snubbies, that are easier to shoot one handed. Gettin' too old (almost 70).......have to be happy doin' the best I can! ;) Bob

Love that pancake holster. Thought you might have been on the LAPD till I saw that you are from Florida. My department didn't allow pancakes. I used a Hoyt holster (front break) during my time in patrol.

Nice Model 67. I should have bought a Model 15 or 67 when they were still common. My department issued Model 15s.

My first cousin Jerry Ferrin was an LAPD cop. i went out LA and rode with him a couple of shifts while visiting my Uncle . He got me an LAPD Clam Shell/Pancake. Recently sold it to a collector. i carried it for 3 or4 years before we went to Autos in 1980s.

In the world of refined and civilized handguns The model 15 is perhaps KING.
If you care to mix in indestructible with refined and civilized you come up with a mod. 67 for a win ,win.

A well mannered handgun ,capable of great things , with the proper ammo.

My 67-1 is so civilized I seldom hear it calling out on range day in lieu of flashier performers . I need to pay more attention and rectify that. Thanks for reminding me.

Good report. You are making me more anxious to get my newly acquired Model 65-8 out to the range.

No the company that made them went out of business after LAPD stopped carrying revolvers they were never made for Autos. Also new holsters and trainers came along and did not want the finger inside the trigger guard when drawing. .. You can find one once in a while at a gun show. some are not in good shape like mine was. Values now between $100 and $300 depending on condition and working condition.
