Not to rain on your parade....

28gr of either of the 4198's is the "standard" loading with a 405 to 425gr cast bullet...

That 300gr H'day will do 1800 fps from my 1895 with but 45gr of either of the 4198's....

Don't want you to get Trap Door parts in the puss....

(this is off the top of my head...been loading the 45/70 since '78...)

My favorite? 405 to 425gr LFP with 13 to 14gr of Unique!
 
I have a LEE 405 grain HB mold, I just need to clear my casting furnace bottom pourer, then I'm in the casting business :)
If? for the big bullets...you can get a ROWELL? bottom pour ladle?

Those work really well on the big bullets...much less trapped air...

Nothing against the bottom pour pot...just for big bullets the ladle seems to have fewer "do overs" ...for my dumm self. LOL!!
