Here's my first significant contribution to the forum (despite having posted quite a bit). I found a great website that lists a great number of guns and in what movies they have appeared. I think both gun owners and movie fans will enjoy this site.

then go to "categories" and choose "guns" then your favorite weapon. Listings of movies within which your gun has appeared will come up. Then click on the movie name to see the specific scenes and which actors used the weapon in it.
Great fun for a cloudy Sunday.

Hey Range Rat,

Great info site. I was curious about the 44 mag that Clint used in the Dirty Harry movies. The site said that the actual piece used was an M57.

Anyone know if that is true? Why would they do that?

Anyway, what I originally wanted to know: Does anyone know where the gun is that Clint used? Was it one or many?

I'm hoping Doc or Don or the other experts would know.

FYI, I just bought a Bianchi X15 vertical shoulder holster for my S&W 686P 6". I have seen it referred to on one of the forums (or somewhere) as the "Dirty Harry holster". I am going to keep digging to see if it was in fact used in the film.

Well it sounds like there are a few "Original Dirty Harry Guns" in at lease 3 calibers. I was interested to see that the co- writer has one and NRA has one.

I wanted to see if it was a Clint "thing" to have only one, it sounds like he didn't have any say so, or even if he cared. I guess it's not like he would be firing a real round anyway.

I'd like to see the one the NRA has.

Who knows how many over the series they used anyway....?

Interesting stuff though.
