Most threads I saw on this were old, so I'm going to ask here.
I recently acquired a nickel plated 15-3 S&W .38 I am just looking for a year.
I had one in 1973 but I think this one is not as old.
The serial number is 8K66627
It looks almost brand new. I can add photos if needed

Hi and welcome to the forum! Sweet model 15-3. I have the snubnose version. Love the classic stylings of the older revolvers and the model 15 is one of the best looking around. Great shooter also. Thanks for sharing the pics.
