I have a beautiful Model 41 with the 5.5 inch barrel. I've had it for about 25 years. It has been sitting in my closet for a couple years. I've recently pulled it out to clean it so I could take it to the range. Imagine my disappointment when I found that it wouldn't shoot because I couldn't cock it. I took it apart and reassembled it but nothing changed. Does anybody have any suggestions on correcting this?

First, don't dry fire a Model 41 without a dummy round in the chamber. You'll do damage.

Is the barrel properly mounted? Can you see any damage to the disconnector? It's awfully hard to diagnose something remotely without even a picture, so you may be due for a trip to a qualified gunsmith familiar with the Model 41 action.

Mrerick thanks for your help. I will get some dummy rounds tomorrow. Could you please tell me what the disconnector is.
