OK, in keeping with the Winchester lever theme, my latest weekend grab, a Winchester 55 takedown in .30 WCF (what else? ;) ). AND LOOK DREW, NO WILLIAMS FOOLPROOF RECEVIER SITE!!!! :D

I've seen 3 and 4 digit serial #'d 55s, while this one is numbered in with the 64/94 model #s.

And sorry to say, you North Eastern boys, but I'm selling off Rugers to finance my Winchester habit!! :)

Thanks for the compliments gents! These old rifles are truly works of art compared with today's stuff. I just like to admire and study them...and occasionally shoot them just because. If these old things could talk!! This 55 has a 1929 birthdate, can you imagine the stories it could tell? BTW, I got this one out of Connecticut...sorry to "steal" it away from the north-east!! It will do better in the dry climate of the south-west anyhow! ;)

(BTW: I am negotiating/trading for a Winchester 53 .25-20 takedown...hopefully in a few weeks I will post pictures of that beauty!)
