What's in Your Night Table?

Actually I keep a Sig 365X or S&W 642 with CT laser in it. The M629 .44 mag with 6 1/2" barrel is definitely not a night stand gun, but it sure looked good sitting on top. What does everyone else keep next to the bed?

I don't have a night table, but my gun safe is right next to the bed, on my side. There's a M66-1 snubbie lying on top of the safe, and over 30 assorted revolvers, pistols, shotguns and rifles to choose from inside.

There is a 642 with a laser sight (long story but someone else did not want it) a model 10-5 in a bedside holster. There are also loaded things in each room of the house. (No kids anymore). Some are for the critters that try to eat my chickens, or to scare away the bears. Humans are not really much of a threat in our little hollow.

A Model 642-1. I keep it together with the holster because it also goes into my coat pocket if I have to walk the dogs at night. I know the grips is a bit over-the-top, but it is about the smallest I feel comfortable with on this gun, and from a manufacturer I personally like (Altamont). There is also an loaded old 5906 in the house, but I think of that as the second line of defense, ;)

On the wife's side is a 3" model 65-3, her and her model 65 are the primary night time protection. If I am awake, then it is my model 66-3.

My 9mm EDC is by the bed. But, with a functional alarm system an two large breed barkers, I have ample time to get an AR from the closet should an intruder make it that far.

I really like a square butt J frame, nice one. Has the hammer been modified?

Nice!! What grips are on the 66-8? I like them!
These are Thai grips, a few companies over there making really nice reproductions. Very inexpensive and looks really good, this way you can keep your factory grips safe from use and not sacrifice looks. I get mine on Amazon from a particular vendor but you can get them on eBay too. I have several different styles on other brand new smith revolvers.
