Hi anyone know what this revolver is? Hopefully the pics give you enough information. Serial number 570xxx on butt of revolver. Matching serial number under barrel with the addition of the letter B. Top of barrel say SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD MASS USA

Right side of revolver has 38 S&W SPECIAL CTG. 3 screw side plate. Left side of revolver has S&W emblem under cylinder release. Left side of barrel says SMITH & WESSON

If there are three digits after the 570 it probably shipped in 1927. Grips are not original.

Nice old guns as they are very accurate. Just not collector items. I would just shoot it and enjoy.

It' has a 4th screw. You will find another one under the grip. It is a 38 Military and Police Model of 1905, 4th change. Should be a good shooter. It's value has been hurt much by the sight modification.
