No primers here in Oregon drew. When they do get some in your only allowed to buy a hundred at a time. And if you don,t get your hundred then they are gone the next day.

Sorry giz I get you to mixed up.
I can add that Northern and Central NH, Eastern Mass and Northern Vermont appear to be picked clean as well.... Have been for the past month.

I'll be in CT, RI, Western Mass, Eastern NY later this month and I will be on the hunt.

I spoke with an Industry Rep the other day and he told me that both ATK (Federal, CCI) and Winchester have made commercial sale of Primers for reloading a very low priority behind driving up the production of ammunition. ATK is trying to reach a new goal of producing ammo at the rate of 2.4 BILLION rounds per year (up from their current 2.1 BILLION) and this has put a tremendous strain on their ability to produce primers for reloading components.

Lake City alone is producing 1.4 Billion Cartridges per year and has just landed a $481 Million contract to produce 5.56, 7.62 Nato and .50 BMG rounds.

Anyone who would like to check around for suppliers before burning up alot of gas on the hunt can use ATK's dealer locator found here: http://www.cci-ammunition.com/general/d ... cator.aspx

Good Luck.... looks like it's gonna be a rimfire kinda summer....

Magnum large rifle been AWOL for six minths. The rest are few and far between for two to three months
From where I'm at in AZ to LAX (L.A. Int'l airport) there aint none!! At least that I have found! Did find some lg rifle mags though. And my favorite 80 year old one-man shop sold me the last 1000 of his CCI450s (sm rifle mags) for what was listed on the tag...$13.95! Oh how I wished he had more at that price!! :(
I managed to score a brick of remington 1 1/2's locally last month and haven't seen much around since. My sister's supposed to take me gun shop hopping for my birthday tomorrow to see what we can find. I think she has ulterior motives for the gesture though ........ I reload to support her shooting habit as well as mine and I am running low on 9mm bullets ( she shoots mainly 9's while I shoot mostly 40's and 38's ). I'll report back after tomorrow's outing if we go.
Montana's lookin' pretty sad.
I'll let y'all know about my part of Georgia tomorrow. I'm stocked up on primers, bullets and powder but I'm going by a friend's gun shop anyway, so I'll check out his supply.

I'm almost willing to bet his supply is low to non-existent, though..
Friend who reloads & sells at gun shows told me he wanted to buy a HUGE amount...asked at SHOT...they laughed & said call us in 6months!
My friend is NOT a small time reloader....does $10,000 & more in sales at a weekend show!

I have been able to find all the items. I need for reloading locally. Later today I'm going to stop at a new gun show. I will hunt around for some brass. I need some brass for .41 mag. This gun show is open at noon today. Which is an odd time but I'll check it out. Normally these shows are on Saturday and Sunday. I know it will be a waste of time looking for the 41 brass.(Maybe a new gun) If I do not find my needs. Then I will break down and just buy some new brass. Later today I will let you know about the primers. I have been seeing primers in some of the local chain stores. Packs of 100 if I recall they were Winchester brand. I do not recall the price but they were high for the 100 packs. I normally buy the 1000 count packages. Maybe I should pick up those 100 packs. One has to go with the flow.
Its hit and miss up here in upstate NY. I have a standing order in for large pistol primers with all the local shops. Small pistol primers are a bit easier to get, large pistol primers are much much harder to find.
I went to the gun show. Not a primer to be found. Some deals on ammo but they were few and far between. Firearms no deals that I seen. I did pick up odd's and end's basically junk. Only reloading stuff I found a deal on was on some brass. One guy was nuts. He had a set dies I was interested in. Used dies but like new. He pulls out a catalog and wants full retail. I passed on that deal.
I stopped by my buddy's gun shop today and it's as I suspected it would be. He's almost out of anything ammo related, including components.

In fact, I have lots more primers than he has.. He asked if I wanted to sell some, but I politely declined, right before reminding him that I told him to stock up a year ago...
I went to several shops today. The only primers I saw were shot shell primers ...... I didn't find any pistol or rifle primers at all. Not a bullet to be had in 38/357, 9mm or 40 s&w ....... I did see some 45's and various rifle calibers. No powder to be had either. I'm ok for awhile, but I hope things break loose before I really NEED to restock.
Well, I did find a store nearby that has primers...CCI primers for small rifle, small pistol, and large pistol, but they are MAGs. $34.95/1000 and limited to 1000 per customer. I didn't buy, but am thinking I should go back and get some...what do you think?

I wouldn't have left the store without them ........ make haste and get as many as they'll sell you ;) . One can work up standard loads using magnum primers as long as you start from minimum loads and work up carefully.
