If I were just going out to find carry ammo for a Model 60 I would try and find a box or 2 of Federal Personal Defense Ammo. From what I have seen it is good stuff. I personally carry WW Silver Tips in mine as that what was issued to me when we were using revolvers.

Either the Speer Gold Dot 135 gr. +P or whatever 158 gr. +P is available, though I tend to prefer the heavier slug in 3" rather than 2" bbls.

There isn't a nickel's worth of difference in the performance of any of the premium JHP's on the market today.

Pick what works best in your particular gun.

I'm using 129 gr. Federal Hydra Shoks because they were on "sale" at the time.

However the majority of my j-frame shooting is done with 158 gr. LSWC's.

I don't feel undergunned with either load.

I typically carry speer gold dot in the model 10 2" in the winter. I may go with the extreme shock air freedom or glaser silver slug in the summer months. But, on occasion, wwb semi jacketed hollowpoints.

Pick any modern hollowpoint -- and this is the important part -- that shoots to your sights. Shot placement is the most important thing. All of the modern hollowpoints -- and this includes the 158 swchp +P -- are going to work well enough to do the job if you place the shot right, and NONE of them are going to work if your placement is poor. Find the one that agrees with your pistol's sights and practice with it.

That's excellent advice on picking a load that shoots to your sights!

I'm always shocked to learn that someone has never fired a single round of his/her SD load to see how it shoots and where it hits! It's very common - too expensive to waste, so just load 'em up and assume....

You're confused....those are basketball shoes.
Might be a good idea. If I could run fast enough, I might not have to waste my ammo.

Or, it could be they're new to this forum and don't know they can look up old posts..

I do believe we've all been newbies at least once.
