Hi all, it’s my understanding that the 59 was produced in blued or nickel finishes. My grandpa’s (now my dad’s) 59 has a nickel slide and a blued frame (with a jeweled hammer) and am pretty sure it was customized at some point in the past. I recently came across another 59, but in stainless (I.e, it looks just like the finish on a 659, etc) but has model 59 marked on the slide, with the lollipop rear sight.

I’ve only been able to find two other pics online of 59s like this, but no information...

By chance does anyone know about these?

I may try to pick it up 😉

Thanks in advance,

Ray

Thanks all; the brushed chrome may be it -

I’ll probably pass since there’s a 37 airweight too 😉

Thanks for the welcome btw!

The 53 was chambered for the 22 Jet? A 357 necked to 22? Is the firing pin different to handle the pressure?

Thanks,

Kevin
Kevin,
The 53 has two frame mounted firing pins...
there is a 'switch' on the hammer nose that rotates from the centerfire to the
rimfire position for use with the 22 LR inserts or auxiliary LR cylinder
