Hi I have just spent a year building a Replica Tommy Gun for a Gangsters and Flappers Casino Event I am going to run for a Homelessness Charity in Queensland Australia. Looking for information to build an era accurate S&W and hoping someone can help with some dimensions/plans I can use as I cannot find any local replicas to use for my punters photo shoots.

The Tommy Gun needs some paint effects and then its onto...

...or should I use an I frame? I would be really grateful for any dimensions you can provide.

I could take a picture of an I frame or K frame on graph paper would that help you with dimensions?

I frames are kind of small and wouldn't show much in a photo shoot. K frame would be better

Here is a revolver that was actually designed to fight crime. The 38/44 Heavy Duty, N frame.

This happens to be from 1950 but the HD was introduced in 1930(?) to defeat the body armor and heavily metaled vehicles of the day.

Another one could be the Model 1917, 45 ACP, used by John Dillinger and others.

Not a S&W, but the Colt 1911A1 is also an option. This one is a commercial model from the 1930s.

So, a few options for you to consider.
