I am thinking about getting a 9mm pistol, again. Here we go again!!!

I like my Walther P22 3.2" very much. What I want is a similar operating DA/SA 9 mm. I need it to be compact and light (< than 15 ozs.), to use as a self-defense/pocket gun. I like the exposed hammer and safety on my P22. Is the new Wather PSS the pistol that I want.......or is there something else, better suited to my spec's????

Remember, I live in Massatwoshits.........so I can't buy some guns. It has to be on the "Approved for Mass. list", which doesn't include the obvious Kel-Tec or Kahr. Shoot!!!! X( Bob

Than you might not like the PSS as it is not a traditional DA/SA like the P22. It utilizes a striker rather than a hammer and is essentially the same as their P99 series (which I am a huge fan of - great pistols).

That being said, I'm also a huge fan of Sig and if you can score one of the Politzei P6's that have flooded the states, I would suggest one highly. They're apparently getting ready to expect another 30,000 or so to come over. Some are beat up a bit externally, but generally, the guts are in great shape. They can be had for about $300.00 if you look hard enough (they were cheaper a year ago, but guys went nuts when they realized they could get a Sig for $275.00). It's a single stack - but so is the PSS.

It has multiple grips which you can replace. If the grip falls off you can't use the gun. I wouldn't want that if the SHTF. That is why I crossed the PPS off of my list.

I realized, too late, that it's Walther PPS..........but, P or S,....it's still expensive. That P6 looks great to me, not tooo pretty....but made to use! Perfect for carry!!! ;) IMO

Where do I find one of these P6's???? CDNN is the only place, that I know. Do thety sell thru the mail in Massatwoshits????? It might be a no-no in this state. It also has to be on the "approved list". X( Bob

WOW, That sucks!! Dans Ammo used to have them, Summit Gunbroker may still have a couple laying around. Man I hope you can get one, cause the P6/P225 is really slick.

Leighton, That's my kind of carry gun!!!! ;) I usually carry my old M-36 but........I can't help thinkin' that more firepower might come in handy, considering how close I live to the drug/gang culture. I've got a 10 shot P22 but....ain't no way that's gonna help much. I'm pretty much restricted to 10 shot magazines in this dumb state. But....it's better than 5!!!!

I'm gonna check out CDNN right now!!!! :ymapplause: Maybe sumptin' will show up!!! =p~ Bob

Well...I downloaded the catalog, but didn't see much that I was interested in. Remember that I want a compact, light weight, carry gun, and the state restricts me to 10 rd. mags. and a lot of guns don't make the approved list, either. A S&W M-3913 would fill the bill, but I have to check on everything else. I don't want to buy a gun that's illegal here.

I've always got the ol' m-36, just have to learn to reload with speed strips a lot quicker..... bob

I am a big Walther fan, as many here....saying that, I have never been able to warm up to the looks of PPS...

I've been carrying my Sig 225 for 23 years, bought it new... I just put on a short trigger and love it that much more. Refinished last year.
