Not wanting to get into one of those "whats better or the real thing" disscussions here. But I have a USFA Pre War in .44WCF and a few month old Colt's Frontier Sixshooter, same calibre.
USFA's grip frame feels more like a '51 Navy than a normal Colt SAA. The Colt feels normal, or what I'm used to.
Did the earlier first gen Colt's have a smaller grip than the third gens or did USFA miss it?
I haven't taken the time to get out the micrometers and tape measures to see if there is a difference to see if it's only my imagination.
By the way I lean to the Colt as being the better gun, but I can't really say since it hasn't been shot too much.
