Just read a few posts on the 41 section and the issue was raised about effects of higher velocity ammo on the slide etc. I'm considering a second hand 41 but as it would be bought online I'm wary regarding the condition and would have to trust the selling dealer or owner regards previous use. I'd buy a new gun but not a fan of the timber used in the new grips, much prefer the look of them before they started using ply. I don't doubt the quality just can't get past the appearance of it.
What questions should I ask about used 41's and would pictures of the action be enough to see any problems?
Is the Model 41 named because of the listed weight of 41 ounces?
