I was lurking on the blue forum yesterday and reading a thread on triple locks with 4" barrels. I have to say even with their worn finish they still look good to me. Many were nickel platted or what was left of their platting. I don't have a triple lock and I doubt if I ever get one so I'll just have to be happy with my 29-3. If you have a triple lock or any S&W 44 with a 4" barrel please post it. Here is my 29-3 with a 4" barrel. I really like N frames with a 4" barrel.

All my triple locks are 6 1/2 inchers. I do have a 4" Pre 29 (4 screw).

Since its already off the rails, I'll post my Triple Lock. Its a 6.5 inch that left the factory as a .455. It, unfortunately, was converted to .45 Colt after it made its way back to the US after WWI.

Roy Jinks described it as: ".455 H.E. First Model serial 5642 is one of the rare commercial shipments. It was shipped in April 1915"
