I brought my old Lend Lease M & P revolver to the range yesterday. I even brought some vintage 178 grain military ammo, known to the Brits as .380 MkIIz, which was to replace the 200 grain lead since the British were worried about violating the Geneva Convention's rules on "exploding bullets". I also had an old box of vintage Remington .38 S & W 146 grain lead bullets. The old military stuff was barely even moving along, 560 fps, while the commercial stuff around 650 fps or so. 15 yards from a rest for everything.

David,
The best part of having old guns is shooting them.
Good for you!

I just put together some 38 S&Ws with a 125 JHP that are supposed to clock 1050 FPS. I will check them with the chronograph when I can get out to the range. If they shoot OK in my Terrier it will turn that gun into a viable carry option.

560 FPS? Jeez, you can almost throw the bullet that fast.
