Hunting Season for me has come down to having a walk in the woods with a favorite gun. Today (Oct.31) is the first day of the Muzzle Loading Deer Season in the Live Free or Die State. I did not see any thing this morning but I have 9 more days. My muzzle loader is a Thompson Center (S&W?) IMPACT 50 cal. inline with a Thompson Center 1.5-5 power scope. Yes I put away my almost traditional Numrich Hopkins & Allen under hammer muzzle loader which I used only Black Powder and cast bullets for many years and went to the new inline with shotgun primers and tablets of propellent and state of the art 50 cal. bullets. The only thing going for it is it is a lot easier to clean. At my age that is a strong +.

Me too... CVA Optima V2 with saboted Barnes Split Fires with 100 grains of Western 209 smokeless and a CCI shotgun primer. Kind a sorta smokeless. Nice thing here is, I can use the front stuffer or my S&W 460 XVR revolver under the revised hunting rules here in Michigan, Ohio or Indiana.

Good luck. Nothing beats a walk in the woods with a good friend rifle.
