Did I get taken to the cleaners, or what? Think I grossly overpaid for this set, but they were in real nice shape...

Yup..... You got hammered..... Send them off to DW to strip off the Poly and maybe you'll come out okay.....
G
No poly, just a fresh coat of oil, they've dried in nicely....

Drew, ....Would you believe KTP?

giz
Wow.... Really? Only goes to prove what we've always known..... Those guys really are idiots.........
What guys are idiots? What am I missing? Please explain.
G
Ken,

PM me and I'll explain...Drew and I and a few others still bargain hunt there ;)

I used to go there all the time when I lived a lot closer. It used to be a 20 minute ride. Now it is just shy of 2 hours. Anyway, the place has grown exponentially over the years, like a mini LL Bean. I was there last month for the first time in over ten years, I would say. The gun room had grown again! Didn't really have a great reloading section though. All the primers were behind the counter or in the back room. You had to ask for them.

I don't know if they still do it, but they used to keep a storefront open just across the river, in NH. As I resident of NH, I could buy a handgun in Maine and they drove it across the river and met you in the NH storefront and did the paperwork there. No extra charge.

Shaun,

They still have that service. And truth be told, the place is in better shape then in the past. They have stablized the gun buyers and that has helped. The inventory is really depleted, they prolly only have 2500 guns these days, on hand ;)

But I'm friends with the traders, and might be in the top tier of buyers. Had to cultivate those relationships. It also helps that they have a really good knife department. Perhaps the best in N.E. My collection of knives has mostly been gleaned from these guys ~ and they share a lot of knowledge. One in particular is a maker, and he has helped guide my collection.

Good place, with a few quirks... :)

Very nice. Frank
Yeah, you did just fine.. sounds like a really nice gunshop.

Giz, you didn't get taken too badly. I might have gone as high as $15...if I had a gun that needed them.
Dang Giz, those are nice! You know I very nearly went to KTP yesterday morning, then decided to do it today instead. The Gods were on your side! ;0)
G
You guys are making me jealous. 15 years ago I lived in Concord, NH and got over to KTP a couple of times a year. Haven't been there in years. Live in Virginia Beach now.
