Hi SWF:

I'm new to the site and looking for information on a 2004 SW1911 PC full size 5" in black finish (melonite?), non-ported. It has adjustable Wilson Combat sights with dovetails, ambi safety and a modest magwell. Mags are 8 round. Looks to be all factory.

Any and all info of performance or known issues is appreciated.

Some initial questions that I have are:

• the care and feeding of the black finish,
• is it stainless or carbon steel underneath,
• what type of small part components were used in 2004? (tool steel vs MIM?)
• what accuracy should one expect?
• current value of a pristine example?

Any links to historical material would be greatly appreciated!
