This is the companion revolver to the Flattop 44 with serial number 33. It was manufactured on December 5, 1959 and shipped on August 26, 1960. It has the long grip frame. I assume both of these revolvers were "subscription guns" and that accounts for the delay between manufacture and shipping. I know that subscription guns were sometimes held back for a few months after a new model was introduced. I had a Flattop .357 and a Single Six with serial number 59 and both were shipped in September 1957. The owner of subscription number 33 was, or is, Pete Barrett. I don't know anything about him.

Great gun again. Having a pair of subscription guns is quite something....I missed the deal of the centrury here in Maine. One of Bill Rugers direct reports moved here upon leaving the company. He was let go after Bills death.. Built a new house and decided to sell his guns. He had almost all of them. The set was mostly broken up, and bits and pieces of it are all over Maine and N.E. now. I met him 3 years after this occurred. He still had quite a collection of memorabilia that I have seen parts of.

At any rate, another fabulous gun!

Bill,
The long-frames really look well-balanced , even though that 1/10th"
isn't much.
A beautiful example, and we are better for having seen it.
Thank you!
