Though not a S&W revolver, the Q is still interesting I hope. I have a blued steel revolver I want to put a 3” barrel on. I found a couple but they are stainless steel. Are there any problems mating a screw in stainless barrel into a blued carbon steel frame? It’s a blued 6” gp100 I may want to carry, Thanks to you rabid non-fans for overlooking the blasphemy. I still prefer S&W for most applications.

If you do it, go with a stainless cyclinder too. Pinto guns have a following, if done well,,, and stag stocks.
The only issue I can think of would be galling, solved by proper lubrication. Dissimilar metals being forced together can gall.

I did that once with a model 36. Stainless Barrel, Cylinder and cylinder lock as well. it was really cool looking. Parted with it in a sale to another member here.
