I had the opportunity to shoot the saint(it ain't) & the Ruger. I'll take the Ruger every time. Had some issues with the M&P 15 sport, FTE.
My old SP-1 stayed up front too...it ate everything I fed it. I/we at the Clubb chose the Ruger hands down....fwiw. p.s. we don't shoot any steel cased ammo as we have had extractor damage.

I never shot the Saint or the Ruger. Before I purchased an AR15 I did a lot of research, got input from friends and hands down the S&W M&P sport 2 is what I decided on. My decision was based on warranty, very little complaints, and reviews I read. never had an issue with my rifle and could be happier with it.

Strum Ruger tends to build robust actions anyway. I wouldn't buy SA anything either.

The lowest price that I have seen on SPRINGFIELD SAINT ST916556 is $601.

Does anyone know where they are selling for less?

I purchased a slightly used MP15 last week. They had a used Ruger, but compared to the S&W, it was loose and sloppy, So I went with the M&P15. It's my 1st AR so time will tell if I made a good purchase. I need a "truck" gun to shoot at the occasional pig that hits my yard.
