I have a SW shotgun, Model 1000, 20g, bought new 30+ years ago, hunted hard for rabbits. I am in the process of refinishing the wood. Anyone know how to remove the grip caps without damage. Thanks, Tom

Isn't there a srew in the center of the grip cap? If not, it may be glued on. Other than that......Idunno. Bob

There is a screw under the round blue and silver S&W logo inlay. I don't know how you'll get the inlay out without damaging it. Might be best to leave it on. Numrich does list the parts..... grip cap 380040B and inlay 380070B.

Thanks fellows. Yes, there is a screw in the middle and also a pin near the end to keep it from swiveling. the center is glued in. I took a small drill bit and drilled on the outside of the center. Heated with a heat lamp a number of times to loosen the glue and pried it out with an ice pick and then unscrewed the rest. Only minimal damage. Tom
