Well I bought a Smith and Wesson Sigma SW40V today at Academy Sport & Outdoor.

I took it straight to the range and it shot well, my only complaint is a very very hard trigger pull.

Absolutely not one problem - I only had 50 shells with me (bought with the gun).

First .40 I've owned, I own two other Smith's a 9 mm & a .45 - love 'em both. kfjdrfirii

Any advice on how to lighten the aweful trigger pull? j;zn; kubvcabo

Just keep shooting it. Eventually, it'll wear in. I've had mine for a little while and my complaint was the same as yours. The trigger really, really sucks. I've put over 600 rounds through it and it does wear in. Have faith. It's an ugly gun; homely enough to pucker a hog's butt. But, as you've already discovered, it just flat-out shoots. It'll shoot 'til they're cuttin' ice in Death Valley.

It is a shooter, but surely someone on this forum knows how to correct this.

Even as the trigger "breaks in", I still do not like a 9 to 10 pound trigger pull  - there must be something that can be and has been done to fix that.

I understand the claim about safety, but it can be safe at 4 to 5 pounds too. kfjdrfirii

I think?
