Hey Guys, I’m new to this site and have recently purchased a S&W M&P 15 Sport II. I am thinking about putting a silencer on it, can someone tell me what the thread size is on it and can the A2 Flash Hider be unscrewed easily? I received it about 2 weeks ago and put about 100 rounds through it – not one problem or issue. Thanks

Thread is 1/2 x 28. That is universal across AR15 platforms.

Yes, the flash hider is easily enough removed but you should use an upper receiver vice block. I use an inexpensive one from Wheeler Enineering.

Suppressors can be direct thread or use a QD muzzle device which doubles as a comp or flash hider when the suppressor is not being used.

There's zillions of suppressors to choose from. Happy suppressor hunting.
