Should I take this new Colt apart?

I have a new 1911 Colt continued-production. Wondering if I should fully strip it to oil pieces parts?

Sure, taking them all apart is easy and it aids in keeping them running smoothly.

Push out the lower grip pin and they just fall apart. :)

Remove the thumb safety first....
