Shield Plus and Holosun 507k

I’ve had my Shield Plus for about a month now and still struggling with RDS issues. First bought a Sig Romeo 0 and the controls were so difficult to access I sent it back. Then I mounted a Holosun 507k and I really like it. Only one thing, I had to use an adapter plate to mount correctly but after I did that, the lens was too high up to cowitness with iron sights. I would like to have a backup in case Murphy’s law rears it’s ugly head but still satisfied with the Holosun. Only other option I can think of is to have the slide milled to accept the sight W/O an adapter plate. Any other suggestions? It would be nice to have a list of RDS that mount directly to the Plus without using an adapter plate.

Just bought a optics ready Shield Plus yesterday. I've ordered a Swampfox Sentinel green dot for mine. It will mount without a plate. I wanted the Holosun as I have them on some Glocks, but I didn't want a plate under it. I wish Holosun would just build their slimline sights in the standard Shield RMSc footprint. I would have bought a Shield sight bit they don't do green. I will see how the Swampfox is.

Rangerman totally agree. The RMSc footprint is the most common.

Any chance you'd be willing to give me the information on what adaptor plate and where you purchased it, I bought a 507c, same footprint as the k, I'm ok with a plate, I bought the Shield Plus as a back up concealed carry, my primary is a CSX and it's not optics ready. Galloway Precision has a new mill and their prices are very affordable. Thanks for any help you can render. ☮✌

The Holosun 507c and 507k do not have the same footprint. The 507c uses the Trijicon RMR footprint and the 507k uses a modified Shield RMSc footprint. The adapter plates for the Shield Plus comes from CH precision. The 507c would be way too wide fir the Shield Plus. It fits full sized Glocks and M&Ps.
Just today I finally bought an optic for my Shield Plus. I bought the Holosun 407k and mounted it with the CH Precision adapter plate. I zeroed it today and I find it to be a great option for that pistol. The 507k and the 407k have the same footprint. The 407k is a single 6 moa reticle. I really like that size dot. I have a 507k on a Glock 48 and I find myself using the plain dot more than the circle dot. I didn't do a lot if shooting with the backup iron sights but it looks like the groove in the optic used with the front sight will provide a decent point of impact if you had to use it in an emergency.
I got my plus a couple weeks ago. Saw the new Holosun eps carry and immediately pre-ordered one. It actually comes with a plate that adapts to the shield plus. Couldnt be happier, sighting it in tomorrow. If you dont want a plate all you do is eliminate the posts at the rear.

I found another company whose going to have the green dots in all their products in 6 mouths. GOWUTTER, they're half the cost, direct screw on, no adapter plate. I have 1 on my Walther PDP, I have the red dot coming for the shield tomorrow.
Does anyone know if the 507K X2 requires a plate for the Shield Plus? I prefer to not use a plate. I am not sure what the X2 version changes as I cannot find the info anywhere. Frustrating!
If you get an EPS carry it comes with a plate and you can still co witness with stock sights, even with the plate. It’s an enclosed sight, so that’s another benefit.

Yes it does require an adapter plate. I used the CH Precision plate on mine. It worked well.

Thank you for the info! I ended up going with a Crimson Trace RAD Micro Pro Micro Green Dot. I may very well end up purchasing a Holosun before it is all said and done, though. :)
In reality it it up to Holosun to do the engineering for a RSMC Mount. If they did, I would jump on it. Instead I am leaning toward a Swampfox Sentinel. I have Green Dot Holosun on another pistol that works well.
