Very cool gun and the period Hurst grips ARE the icing.
Just nosey, Is the "toe " of the grip frame clipped under the grips ? Many, but not all were for the Hurst/Fuzzy Farrant grips in vouge at the time.

I bought the gun from a retired LAPD officer. We had a discussion of the grips made by Farrant, Hurst and Hogue. The cut frame idea was Farrant's.
This gun was not made until 1985 (?) and all three were no longer making grips at that time, the frame had not been cut.

The model 68-2 shipped tp LAPD were 6 inch barrel, red ramp front sight , all black rear sight blade target grips and double action only. When I took the gun apart to clean I noticed that the cocking notch had not been cut on toe of the hammer.
