I have had an S&W Model 39-2 (hole in the hammer) since 1971. I also have an S&W Model 3913NL and 4040PD.

Anyone have all five of the above pistols?

The ASP has a very unique (no front sight blade) and difficult to use fixed sight system call the "Guttersnipe".

A S&W Model 39 no dash sold for under $800 on Gunbroker.com the other day. I may have gotten sucked-in into the bidding but I lost track of the time on that auction.

I'm a big fan of the 39-2. I've owned several, but had to sell them off for one reason or another. Not too long ago, I found another one for a reasonable price and grabbed it.

And I well remember the days of the "Asp." Oh, I wanted one of those.

Of course I pretty much wanted every gun I saw, but that's beside the point. :)
