Really like the S&W Highway Patrolman , both the pre models and the 28's.
Wanted to share a few pictures of my early 5 screw first year model, mfg date of 1954. It has a few minor rubs but overall in fine condition for it's age.

Very nice.. and those Target grips without the extractor relief are really scarce.

Very nice pre-model 28. It looks to be in great condition. My 6" 28-2 : 1969 and my 4" 28-2 : 1973. The 6" was re-blued at some point. Both great shooters and the 4" has the best trigger out of any other revolver I own. Thanks for sharing the pics.

Here is my '71 vintage 6+1/2" 28-2, with it's Altamont grips:

And the two 4" 28-2's I recently bought. The darker gripped one is from '67, and the lighter gripped one is from '79:

I have different grips for these to also, but haven't put them on yet. Not a fan of the stock grips at all
