Welcome to the forums from the Wiregrass! I'm not an expert on the S&W Model 1. So, I can't say for sure whether the cylinder is original or not. My one observation is the serial numbers stamped on the cylinder face appear to be in a font that S&W did not use and they are spaced in a manner that is not typical of S&W. Anyway, there are experts that hang out on another S&W forum that may be able to provide a positive ID for your cylinder. You can find them at Smith & Wesson Forum.

Thank you so much for the warm welcome! I've learned a lot from this forum and thank you all for your input and time. I have never joined because I never felt I had much to add. Guns are a lot of who I am, and I have the deepest respect for many of the members of this forum (at least where their gun knowledge is concerned. LOL). God bless you all, God bless the United States of America, and bless the second amendment that guarantees the Liberty of Free men.
