My first wheel gun was a -6 back last year. I have been mostly into custom 1911's but got bit by the wheel gun bug. S&W's are in my book the best looking revolvers made. I use to want a Python something bad, but that's changed.

My 686-6. Before I know about the lock and mim parts.

This is a 686-1 that I just purchased. It's in the mail.

Very nice pair. I really like the 686 and have 2, no dash guns & 2 dash 6. The older guns had lighter trigger pulls than the 2 newer ones but all 4 were bought used and the old ones may just have been broken in more. I polished the rebound slide & frame where it rides along with a few other surfaces and put a somewhat light rebound spring in the 2 dash 6’s and now they all have a nice smooth 9.5-9.7# trigger pull.

Two very nice 686’s. The lock is absolutely no problem. Don’t worry about it. My carry gun has one and it doesn’t affect the function in any way. Shoot and enjoy.
