Does anyone know if any S&W 629's came with the wood presentation case from the factory?

If I'm not mistaken, the original 629's did. That is to say, the 629 no dashes.

Cush and BobW are correct.

However these late cases were somewhat different than the early 29-2 cases in that the 'clown mask' was gone and replaced by blue flocked foam. Tools are under a small, knobbed door.

You're welcome, I'd say alot of people don't mention prices on the forum for many reasons and a gun could price out at more or less for the same reasons, location, condition etc.
I for one will not ever own a S&W with a lock in the frame, others it does not bother, but like you I would rather spend my money on what I like and collect, Pre-Lock Smith's.
