just purchased this pistol and curious as to age. grips have been changed to monogrip. serial no on butt is 470981 but number on yoke under cylis 25613. gun is tight but some wear to blueing. any info appreciated.

Welcome to the forums from the Wiregrass! Your M&P dates to mid-1920's. The grips should be walnut, non-medallion, round top, checkered service grips.

The Catalog says 241,704 was 1915 and 700,0000 was 1942 so it's somewhere in there.
The number in the yoke is an assembly number and means nothing to us.
