I have shot the original version, the LC9, quite a bit. A friend has one. They are a little bit snappier than a shield, but are also a bit more compact. I could carry one in my pocket where the shield is just a bit too bulky.
I have an LC9s, bought before it was replaced by the EC9s. I like it a lot.......it's smaller than most 9mm., but bigger, just slightly than a .380 LCP. I bought it to replace my S&W M-36 for carry (I gave it to my wife.) It's very reliable, and easier to shoot, because of a lighter trigger than the 36, which has a very heavy trigger DA. I had to replace the bobbed hammer, so she could fire it SA, by cocking the hammer. Bob
