I was browsing the web site for my LGS. They generally have the lowest price around on the steel, 357 J frames as well as on K and L & N frames. On the home page they list New Arrivals. Today there was a model 640 and a model 67 listed. The model 640 is $699.99 and the model 67 is $729.99. Both of those prices are up $40 from ones listed earlier in the year.
I have noticed that used S&W revolver prices also seem to be on the rise. Good if you are sellling, but not so good if buying

I watch a local site every day. People think cause they own something it's really special and worth a lot more. 950.00 for a 66 no dash with Pacs. Yikes. 650 for a use Sig P365, might as well go to Cabelas and buy a new one.
Yes, I have seen some pretty outrageous prices being asked, but don't think they are getting it. I recently saw a 64-3 with target grips for the price of $550. I also have seen some $800 and up, 4" model 66's

Good God.......first of all, stay away from J frames in .357 and second of all.......don't worry about new prices.......just buy up all the old pre-lock S&Ws you can afford.

I'm amazed that it's necessary to even post this.
I have a few new ones and a few old ones and like them all. Given the choice, I would take a pre-lock before a newer gun, but wont let the lock stop me from a deal on the right revolver. Last summer when the LGS had a 20% all used handguns sale, I jumped in the car to get the 3" 686-6 I knew they had. It had been tempting at $599, but with the 20% off price of $479, I would have been foolish to pass it up

Welcome to the forum. I don't know if there is a premium for the diplomatic issue or not. I would value a 19-5 like yours at probably $750, give or take 10%
