What is the thread and pitch for the rear sight elevation stud? I am having trouble putting the rear sight on a 28-2 back on the revolver because the elevation stud won't thread into the nut. If I knew the thread particulars I can "chase" the threads and clean them up.

Did you try loosening the forward screw? I think it needs to be pretty loose to allow the nut to be perpendicular to the stud. Anyway most of the screws are 8 by 46 I believe. I'll have to dig through my kuhnhausen and see if he knows.

Well Kuhnhausen doesn't give any screw sizes. However, I was able to find a reference that gives the elevator screw size as #3-80...same as the windage screw.
