It was a beautiful sunny day in the low 70's, perfect for an afternoon at the shale pit. Here is the Range set-up for the day

I brought my model 442 and my 2.5" 686-6. Curt brought his model 28, SR9c and his model 625

After a few warm up shots we did our 5 Shot Drill

We also practiced getting to your gun quickly with your hands full. Here, Curt had some junk that was laying around in his hands when he is attacked by the target

We had been discussing dominant eye, shooting weak hand and whether or not you should sight with left eye when shooting left handed. That led to us trying something. We stood about 25 ft from an 8" steel plate (the white one)

and alternated shooting left & right handed shooting with left or right eye

After 2 or 3 shots it actually got fairly easy, but we were going for accuracy, not speed.

We have been working on movement while shooting. The day you will perform the way you practice. We don't want to be standing still if the lead gets to flying
Here I am shooting my 442, left handed

Had a good time. Should have brought Sun screen. I got a badly needed haircut on Tuesday and burnt the back of my neck and ears.

YES!!! Another great range day. Always fun to shoot the 625 and the 28 was sweet as usual. Enjoyed shooting jonesy's 868 and 442 as well. The SR9c functioned well and continues to be one of my favorite semi autos. :) Oh...and another great range report jonesy(y)
