Looking at a 649 no dash. Looks to be in decent shape, but it has a bead blasted finish. Guy claims it is a factory finish. Did S&W do bead blasting as a standard option during that time or was it sent back later?

He wants around $350 for it. I am considering either that or a Ruger GP 100 3" for about $75 more. The ruger seems a bit overpriced, but may be able to get it down.

Oh, and want one for no other reason to have a another snub to play with. It's been awhile since I got a revolver and I am feeling the urge.

Greg the 649 came with a satin stainless finsh. Thats on the jc frame.

Figures. well i will be passing then. anyone willing to "improve" the finish on a gun probably mollested it in other areas as well.

save my money for the rickreall show in december. last spring they had a bunch of shooters reasonably priced.
