Did any of the Schofields sold to the Army have a hole in the butt for a lanyard ring? I have a second model Schofield that has a hole, but is missing the lanyard ring.
Welcome to the forums from the Wiregrass! My only reference is the Standard Catalog of S&W, 4th Edition. It says nothing about lanyard rings. However, if your 2nd model was a military model and used by the cavalry, it certainly makes sense to have one. Is the hole drilled through the serial number on the butt? Can you post some pictures?
