Some time back I replaced the outer sear spring on my SW9VE with a lighter one and took the pig tail spring out completely. I polished the sear, trigger bar and the striker lug where it meets the sear. My trigger pull went from about 12 lbs to 7.5 lbs with no failures to reset.

After reading and commenting on several posts here and on another forum that voiced differing opinions on the wisdom of removing the pig tail spring, I decided to put it back in to see how much it increased the trigger pull. Putting the darn thing back in was a bear, but to my surprise it only increased the pull weight by a half pound - 7.5 to 8.

I think I can live with the pigtail in for now.
