Hello everyone.
I just bought my 2nd s&w revolver.
My first was a new 386 in 357 about 7 years ago. I like it, it shoots better than I do. But after a number of years spraying lead with the semi autos I have, I decided to get a real steal revolver.
So after after getting brain fried searching.
I finally decided on a model 29-3 in 44 mag with a 6 in barrel. I had a different make 44 about 10 years ago, still have my reloading stuff for it so i thought let's get a good one this time.
The 29 I just bought is said to be early 80's era. It's not 100 %, but pretty good shape.
I'm really excited, I should receive it middle of next week.
I hope to gain a lot a info and maybe even contribute at some point.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome.
I'd give each a like, if I could figure out how. Maybe cause I'm new, I can't yet?
Anywho, I'll try to upload a pic. It'll be a flintlock I bought in January. Just as a test subject.
Here goes.

Ummm, not sure what I did there.
Sorry, I guess I really am a slow learner.
Please, bear with me.

I really enjoyed your signature line quotes.
Got a good chuckle from them.
As for where I've been.
I have been screwing around with other stuff. After a while and some acquired age I realized, its time to get some real steel, so to say.

My first actual question here.
I'm aware s&w can research a serial number and provide a nice letter of info. I would like to know that history of my gun. I was told early 80's production.
What amazes me, is that's 35 years ago already. Boy, it goes by awfully quick.
What I haven't read is how to obtain this letter of info.
So if someone could point me in the right direction, be much appreciated.
