In the absence of any message to the contrary, it certainly does.

Now that they have accomplished it once, look to the Democrat secular socialist political machine to concentrate it's resources on individual states to do it again and again.

It's only one of several overarching strategies that they have launched under the guidance of the recently neutered Obama operatives. Eric Holder is specializing on election issues like reversing Republican gerrymandering and suppressing voter ID laws.

What we're seeing is the start of organized smart funding of targeted projects, and flipping state legislators and governor's offices are at the tip of the spear.

These political operatives understand the importance of things that go over the heads of the general public. In particular, the success of the Trump administration in appointing 1/3 of the Federal appeals court justices to the bench, as well as Supreme Court appointments.

Second Amendment suppression is only a "test case" for many of their strategic goals.

Get ready. Influence those you know, and especially the younger people with families you know. Appeal to the need for personal responsibility instead of government stepping in to take over and inject itself into people's lives.

Stress the importance of actually voting, of the level of false media reporting and politician manipulation of the public through fear.

It's not just that the legacy media is lying to everyone all the time. It's also that they are using targeted agendas to hype up the general fear and isolation of people in order to make them want the government to solve all the problems.

Already in progress (Nevada, Arizona, Idaho, Texas) and has already been accomplished (Oregon, Washington, Colorado) more than once, VA is just the latest state that's been "turned". VA reads like what happened to CA decades ago, and once the Dems get a firm hold in a state's legislature with an anti-gun Governor... game over.

Unfortunately, this is all systemic of a progressive voting population block that now outnumbers a declining conservative population, with no turn around in sight, as the so called "institutions of higher learning" which are in reality just mush head liberal/progressive incubators, continues to churn them out into society, unabated.

And they will wake up one day and wonder how they became slaves.

More like Soros and Bloomberg outspent the progunners
The Bloomberg groups are spreading throughout the country and trying to affect legislation. Here in Florida they were successful in getting the Red Flag Law passed after the 2018 Boward county High School shooting. Now they are pressing to put an “assault rifle” ban on the ballot using their anti-gun propaganda. To top it all off, Bloomberg stated today that he is preparing to enter the Democratic race by registering as a candidate in the Alabama primary. His election will spell real trouble for gun rights in this country!

Maybe but then again maybe not. I find it interesting how it always distills down to money. "pro firearm people were outspent 2 to 1" (from 1911's posted article. Soros is probably walking around with a hard on right now.

Outspent? That needs context.

The below link was posted in another thread. It reports that Everytown spent $2.5M in Virginia which was 8 times more than the NRA spent. If that is correct, it tells me the NRA only spent about $300k defending their own back yard of Virginia. Last I read Wayne was spending $200k in plane tickets just for himself in one month, including a two-week trip to the Bahamas. NRA has revenues of nearly a half-billion. If there was really no more funds than $300k to allocate to the Virginia races in the face of Everytowns's efforts... NRA members heads should be exploding.

On Tuesday in Virginia, all three seats flipped from Republican to Democrat -- after $2.5 million spending spree in the state by Everytown for Gun Safety, a gun-control group aligned with billionaire former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

Everytown outspent the embattled National Rifle Association by roughly 8-to-1 in Virginia, plowing money into the state to target vulnerable Republicans months in advance of Tuesday's election.

1 organization made the effort, 2 stood and watched. So the one who made the effort owns the failure.

So, what's the scorecard November 2019?

If buying the elections is the key, I expect that the millionaires and billionaires will soon own us.

Grassroots organizing will be the most likely successful path for expanding Second Amendment rights.

The left is using several weapons in their arsenal of conquest:

  • Money to buy influence (all spent by individuals and corporations with the expectation of corruptly gaining more)
  • Voting process manipulation (suppressing the same techniques that they use when in power)
  • Machine Politics (which keep the cycle of corruption contained within the anointed politician's control)
  • Manipulated fear and anxiety (which leverages the legacy media in order to motivate ignorant voters)
  • Government transfer payments (which perpetuate support from their dependent subjects)
  • Illegal Invader sanctuary (which inflates the population of districts for greater congressional influence)
Against this we have:
  • Truth (which is difficult to permanently suppress)
  • Effective crime suppression (motivating citizens to vote with their acquisition of self defense firearms)
  • Second Amendment protections (which establish actual limits to draconian legislative actions)
  • An increasingly conservative modern judiciary (that is shifting to stricter constitutional scrutiny of law)
What conservatives lack is the catalyst to drive conservative voters to the election polls - and especially to dominate primary elections to ensure that firearms friendly and Second Amendment respecting candidates appear on the November ballots in 2020.

Without electing the right candidates in the primaries, we'll end up picking the lesser of two or three evils again.

One glaring problem on our side is the woeful lack of representation in the media. It has to be bought. The left cultivates and has this funding down to buying heads to appear at their rallies. Why can't our side enlist the support of deeply pocketed individuals to provide such support to our message. The right keeps foolishly believing that their side is logically right to the degree that it doesn't need demonstration. It doesn't to those of us who already believe it's right but no one else is convinced. We have to stop trusting to fate in these matters.

So, balancing the impact of false media agenda based reporting is the expanding portion of the audience that understands that the legacy media lies constantly, and social media is a morass of unsubstantiated opinion.

The most telling statistic is the consistently increasing number of firearms acquired in the United States. Right now, there are about 2.3 million firearm transfers per month that incorporate a NICS check:

https://www.fbi.gov/file-repository/nics_firearm_checks_-_month_year.pdf/view

Liberals can talk about taking away everyone's guns, but actual confiscation actions will tend to viscerally alarm the majority of Americans that own firearms. These gun owning Americans might be quiet and not politically active, but this very kind of action could be used to motivate them to actually travel to the polls and vote.

The problem is that while most will vote in November, the most important elections for gun owners and those interested in conservative issues are the primaries in the Spring, and not the general election. The primaries determine whether or not we'll have a good candidate for gun rights, not just one that isn't as bad as the other choices.

Bans and other draconian gun control won't morph into actual physical confiscation, nor does it motivate push back in such states.

XYZ is banned or required registration. Gun owners refuse to comply and hide it under the bed. And that's where it stays. One day they die or have to move into a care facility. The kids call authorities to haul it off. America is disarmed.

If it happens everywhere. More likely, those who can move, do. Because there's more to the Left than gun control- high taxes, business-killing regulation etc.
