Vista Outdoors (owners of Remington and Federal) recently announced price increases for 2021-2022.

They also indicated that they were taking no new orders for primers from distributors. That means that primers are likely to be in short supply for the foreseeable future.

One thought... do not be tempted to substitute primers in your loads. In particular, don't put alternate "small" or "large" primers in a cartridge because they happen to physically fit. Rifle and Pistol and Magnum primers are fabricated and sold separately because they create different flame/spark characteristics. Remember that the loading manuals are not recipe books, but rather documentation of actual measured experiments with the components indicated in the tables.

Congrats on finding primers. I also found primers this week at Scheels. 1000 CCI small rifle primers is what I bought at $69.99. They had CCI BR4s on the shelf also but went for the standard as they were half the price of the benchrest primers.:) JA
