I love the Black Eagle grips on the SAA. They harken back to the late 19th and early 20th century when these pistols were carried everyday and cherished.
Wood and ivory is also beautiful, but I am partial to these grips. They also fit the hand well.
Also… Elmer Keith blew up a couple in his development of the 44 magnum… 😉
Mostly I like this platform as a easy packing pistol, as defined by John Taffin.
A 44 Special loaded with a good Keith SWC moving out at 900-1000fps will basically kill anything living in the lower 48 states.
