Range Report,,,,
Well, it didn't start out good
Minute of Pie Plate at 15 yards....Flyers everywhere. Now, I know how to handle a 1911 with the best of them, but this is a compact double stack....something I have no experience with. After the first mag, I adjusted my hold ~ not good. I tried different ammo, ~ just as bad. By the third mag I was pretty discouraged. Then I noticed the rear sight was way off the centerline of the gun. Oooops, nobody had tighted the set screw and it was bouncing around with every cycle..
Centered it and tightened down. Immediately she settled into a nice 4" group shooting offhand at 15 yards. I expect that once I run about 500 rounds of hardball through her she'll be a 2" gun. Not bad for a compact.
Operation was absolutely flawless. It ate my reloads and factory fodder without a single hiccup. The weight of the gun certainly tames the recoil. The fact that it is higher capacity then my full-size single stacks doesn't hurt. And it fed the full size mags I bought equally as well...
Yep, she's a definite keeper
