It's a great auto. I wish I wasn't so stupid years ago and hadn't traded mine off. You will like it.
Same here. I had one, but in Stainless Steel, one of the best little plinkers I've ever had, eve had is little brother 2213, and traded then down the road years ago.
I am a big fan of the 422 / 622. It is the only handgun that the wife thinks is proper weight. I really like the controls. Although the weight may be light for some, it carries wonderfully. It fits well in holsters made for the 39 /59 series. clapper
Bought one used for my Wife (622, same as 422 except for finish color). She loves it. Just one thing, the Aluminum shroud wouldn't hold the UltraDot that was mounted on it . . . kept stripping the threads. Thus I bought the AimTech grip-rail mount and all is again well with the world.

It was also finicky on ammo, but Aguila Std Vel from CMP runs flawlessly in it.
Hi
Last weekend I was at a very small Gun show, and came across a Guy who had a 422 in a Gun rug. After a bit of Haggling, It was clear he was out to sell it at $200.00. It was by Far the Cheapest S&W at that show and it came with Two magazines..Hammerdown

Hi
I got a Little spare time today so I took this Pistol and Two Box's of CCI Ammo to the range to see how it shoots. I shot CCI Maxi-Mags through it and CCI Target velocity ammo. There was no feed or extraction issues and the target's below show how it grouped using both types of ammo. This Pistol is Light weight and will take me some time to get used to it, But it sure shoots better than I am able to hold at the 20 Yard Line. Regards, Hammerdown

Isn't the action of these autos derived from the 1970s model 61 Escort? I had one of those a while back...didn't like it but I do really like the 422 full-sized 22 autos.
I love mine, it is very accurate.

Hello ken
I Think the action is similar, but Improved as I have not heard of the Jamming issues with the 422. Regards, Hammerdown
Sweet little pieces and accurate as hell.

I passed on one for 299 awhile back, gun, case and a bunch of magazines. I'm kicking myself, but it was pre-surgery and I was holding back as it ended up being a 6 week unpaid vacation.
